JEE Mains (Joint Entrance Examination) is a national level entrance exam held by Central board of secondary (CBSE) which conducted every year for admission undergraduate students at NITs, IITs, and other technical institutions. This 2 tier is divided into JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

JEE Main Notification Details

JEE Main 2016 Eligibility Criteria

All the students who are fulfilling the criteria will be applicable to fill the application form. you need to check your eligibility for before jee online registration.

  • Age Criteria for JEE mains – At first you should check your age limit. General and OBC category students must be born on or after 01.10.1991 and ST / SC / PWD category students must be born after 01.10.1986.
  • Qualification Criteria – Candidates must score at least 50% in 12th class with (PCM) Physics, Chemistry, and Maths with a recognized institution or Board. Students who passed 12th before 2014 will not be eligible for IITJEE.
  • Students have only 3 attempts to qualify the exam.

JEE Mains 2016 Application Process

JEE is organized in two patterns one is pen and pencil based exam and other is online computerized exam, for both students have to submit the application form that will available online.
JEE mains application form released every year in December month of the year and the last date to submit application form is the 15 days after releasing date expected. Sometimes the last date of submission is increased. JEE mains board also provides facility to the students to review their information related to the education, age and any other if an error occurred.
For this, they also provide correction date in mid of releasing and last date of submission of application form. After submission correction is not possible. Remember these certain points when filing form:

1. Before filling form read bulletin correctly.
2. Every student should meet their Eligibility criteria for JEE mains.
3. CBSE board also provides facilitation of centers with the computer for the students who do not have computers. Students can check facilitation center in the list given on the official website of JEE mains.
4. Change in application form allowed before fee payment if the fee is submitted information can not alter.

What information to be filled in application form by the students –

1. Valid mail id and phone number.
2. Documentation of qualifying exam.
3. Debit/credit, e-challan details for fee payment.
4. Scanned photograph, signature, and left hand thumb impression format will be in jpeg, size of photograph will be of 3.5*4.5 c.m and should be latest with name and date, size of signature will be in 3.5*1.5 c.m, left thumb impression size is of 3.5*1.5 c.m if candidate doest not have left thumb can use right, and if both are not then finger will be replaced with thumb.
5. A password that will be used for login by the candidate.

How to Apply for JEE Main Online test
Filling of application form will contain 4 steps, for filling form, first of all, go to the official website of JEE mains
Click on the “apply for JEE main” the “proceed to apply online”

Step 1: Registration

• State eligibility: from where candidate gave their class 12
• Board of 12th or any other qualifying examination.
• Year of passing or appearing 12th, roll no of 12th
• Security pin
• Click on submit button

Step 2: fill application form

• Registered students now fill the application form
• Exam details, academic details, personal details, mailing details, graduate details, choosing password
• Submit security pin
• After completion of form filling process, a user id/ registration number will be generated.

Step 3: Uploading of the scanned copy of the color latest photograph, signature and left thumb impression and all documents mentioned.

Step 4: Fee payment: JEE main application form will be applicable after paying the fee that can be paid by debit/ credit or e-challan of syndicate bank/ Canara/ ICICI / HDFC. After paying the fee, an acknowledgment slip will be generated. Student takes to print out for future use.

CBSE Board Reopened JEE Main application form correction window. Students can make changes in their online admission form through this. But JEE exam center and mode of the exam will not be editable.

JEE Mains 2016 Paper Pattern

Students can apply for any type of mode for JEE main exam paper either it is Online OR Offline. The pattern of examination is divided into two papers. Candidates willing to take admission in B. Tech/ B.E must avail paper1 or who are willing to take admission in B. Arch/ B –planning will avail paper 2, they will have a valid score card of National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).

Students can also apply for both papers. Paper 1 will in an objective with physics, chemistry and mathematics. Paper 2 will in three parts one will objective in math, 2 in objective on aptitude and third will be drawing test. Model of the paper will of two type pen and pencil paper and online computer exam both papers time duration will be 3 hours, the total questions in paper 1 will 90 where each question will carry 4 marks and each wrong answer will carry one mark punish.

The JEE Main rank will be calculated with 40% weight of board marks and 60% weight of JEE Main score as directed by MHRD.

JEE Main Participating States / Colleges under jee main / Exam Centers

JEE Main Result / JEE Main Rank Predictor
Basically, Result for JEE main will have a score of papre1 for all candidates and declare on 27 April 2016, by CBSE.
JEE main scores will contain actual marks in paper 1 online and offline both mode. This result will contain the status of those students who have qualified for JEE advance.

Results will be shown by entering roll number and date of birth. All the students have to download results; no copy will be sent to the students residence address. Result provide cutoff of appearing students of JEE advance. 200000 students will be selected for the JEE advance through JEE main.

JEE main rank card with all India rank, state rank and category rank with total marks and marks in each subject or paper will be available after declaration of JEE main result. Only AIR will be used to take admission in NITs/ IITs/ CFTIs/SFIs/ others.

JEE Main Counselling Procedure
Selected students after result declaration will attend counseling starts from 1st July 2016 organized by joint seat allocation authority (JOSAA) and central seat allocation board (CSAB). This is an online process, that will be done from the official website of JOSAA and CSAB. It will take four rounds first three will be conducted through JOSAA and last fourth step is completed by CSAB.
