IBPS RRB 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Now we discuss the most recognized part of the IBPS RRB 2018 which every applicant wants to know first before filling the application form for the respective exam. That is:

The Entire Eligibility Criteria as follows:

  • Nationality
  • Age limit
  • Relaxation in Age limit
  • Educational Qualification
  • Language Proficiency

Now we start with Nationality:

  1. A candidate should be the citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan and in some special cases, it can be Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  2. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, The United Rebulic of Tanjania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia,Malawi, Zarie, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii),(iii),(iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India can apply for the respective exam.


IBPS RRB Age limit Criteria

  1. For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) –Between 18 years and 28 years that means a candidate should have not been born earlier than 02.07.1989 and later than 01.07.1999
  2. For Officer Scale-I ( Assistant Manager)- Above 18 years and Below 30 years that means a candidate should not have been born earlier than 03.07.1987 and later than  06.1999
  3. For Officer Scale-II ( Manager) –Above 21 years –Below 32 years that means a candidate should not have been born earlier than 03.07.1985 and later than 30.06.1996
  4. For Officer Scale-III ( Senior Manager) –Above 21 years – Below 40 years that means a candidate should not have been born earlier than 03.07.1977 and later than 30.06.1996

 Age Relaxation Limit:

  1. For SC/ST – 5 years
  2. For OBC –   3 years
  3. PWD –   (For the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)) actual period of service rendered in the defence forces + 3 years ( 8 years for Disabled Ex- Serviceman belonging to SC/ST ) subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years.
  4. Persons affected by 1984 riots – 5 years
  5. Widows, Divorced women, and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried – 9 years.

IBPS RRB 2018 Educational Qualification & Experience

According to the IBPS RRB recent notification (As on the last date of Online Registration i.e. 02.07.2018)

Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent
Officer Scale –I (Assistant Manager) Bachelor’s  degree in any discipline from a  recognized  University or its equivalent Preference will be given to the candidates having degrees in Agriculture, Horticulture,Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy;
Officer  Scale-II General Banking Officer(Manager) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (overall). Two years as an officer in a bank or Financial Institution.
Officer Scale –II Specialist Officers(Manger)-

1.   Information Technology Officer

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in Electronics/ Communication/ Computer Science/Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (overall).

Desirable: Certificate in ASP,PHP,C++,JAVA,VB,VC,OCP etc.

One year in the relevant field.
2.   Chartered Accountant Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.  One year as a Chartered Accountant
3.   Law Officer  Degree from a recognized University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (overall). Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks.
4.   Treasury Manager Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized university /Institution. One year (in the relevant field).
5.   Marketing Officer MBA in Marketing from a recognized university One year (in the relevant field).
6.   Agricultural Officer  Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Dairy/

Animal Husbandry/Forestry/Veterinary

Science/ Agricultural Engineering/Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (overall).

Two years (in the relevant field).
Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager)m Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (Overall). Minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a bank or Financial Institutions.

Language Proficiency:  Language is a basic medium to impart our entire knowledge verbally and non-verbally. Here in IBPS RRB Language proficiency has played an important role in some specific areas.

So dear candidates need to pay attention. If any candidate is applying for the post of Office Assistant in any particular RRB are required to bearing the proficiency in the local language of the State/UT in which the RRB is situated, that candidate will be eligible for the Interview.

IBPS RRB 2018 Exam Pattern

Now we will have a look upon IBPS RRB 2018 Exam Pattern. The exam pattern for the selection in IBPS RRB 2018 is totally different for all the posts.

According to the IBPS RRB Latest notification for IBPS RRB Office Assistant 2018, Exam will be conducted in two phases:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Mains Exam

But no interview process will be conducted for the selecting candidates to the post of Office Assistant. Selection will be made purely on the marks obtained by the candidate in his/her Mains Examinations.
