SSC JE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

As per SSC JE recruitment notification, all participants required checking their eligibility before applying for the post. So here are 3 major criteria points which you should focus on it.

  2. Age Criteria
  3. Education Qualification

Nationality

A candidate must be either-

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal, or
  3. A subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

The persons who are belonging to point number 2, 3, and 4 should possess a certificate of their subject case and that should be issued by the Government. This certificate needs to be presented before the examination authorities to sit for the exam.

The post of Junior Engineer being a Group B post, there is no reservation for Ex-Servicemen category. However, the benefit of age-relaxation will be admissible to ex-Servicemen candidates, as per extant Govt. Orders.

  • Junior Engineer (QS&C), MES– B.E. / B.Tech. / 3 years Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognized University/Institute OR Passed the Intermediate examination in Building and Quantity Surveying (Sub Divisional-II) from the Institute of Surveyors (India).

SSC JE Exam Fees Structure

As per SSC JE vacancy Notification, The females from any category or in any physical condition are exempted from paying the SSC JE fees. The exam is freely conducted for them only.

The male candidates belonging to general category/ OBC category or other have to pay fees online of Rs 100.

The Physically handicapped, visually handicapped persons (male as well as female) are not required to pay any fees.

The exam for Jr. Engineer will be held in 2 phases on different dates.

Part- 1 will be having objective type questions which will be computer-based, i.e. you have to give an online test.

Part- 2 will be having a written based examination.

How to Apply for SSC JE Exam Online? – Step by Step Guide

  1. Visit ssc.nic.in . This is the official website of Staff Selection Commission.
  2. You have to click on the ‘Apply’ tab.
  3. The apply tab will take you in the ApplyDialog window where the name of different exams will get appear before you in the form of tabs again.
  4. It is up to your wish, for which exam you want to make application form. If you want to apply for SSC Jr. Engineering exam, then click that particular tab. Similar will be done for other exams too.
  5. After clicking the tab, you will be sent to the online application window, where all necessary details are asked from you to register or to apply.
  6. If you are the first visitor at SSC exam, meaning you hadn’t applied ever for SSC exams in the past then you have to first register yourself.

Note, you need not register in case, you already have registration credentials. And these credentials are allotted to only those candidates who have applied someday in the past.  Are you getting the point?

  1. Go to the registration form panel and enter your Name and Date of Birth. After that enter the code in the text box as it is what is displayed on the side and click submit button.
  2. A form will get visible to you asking for your personal details and contact details. You have to enter every mandatory field with full attention and precaution.
  3. Type the generated code as it is in the blank box and submit it by clicking on submit button.
  4. Now, a new window will get open. It will ask for your photographs and signature. You can see space for the images also. Right?
  5. Just click the browse button and upload your photos in the required format from the saved path.
  6. Click submit button.
  7. Now, your registration part is completed.

Note: as soon as you will complete your registration part, you will be passed a registration ID and password on your mobile number, via text message or e-mail. You should not delete this and saved it for later use.

After registration part is completed, you’ll be automatically sent to the main application window page again where you had started your registration process.

As your registration part is over, now you have to do nothing with it. Proceed to next step.

  1. Go to ‘Apply’ frame box and enter your credentials. Credentials in the sense your generated Registration ID and password.
  2. Enter generated code into the text box.
  3. Click Login button
  4. Now, you will get a form. Here you will be asked your choice for exam centers. For this, you will be given choices from the list of exam centers. You can give exam center names with their respective codes and you have to give them priorities also.
  5. The priorities of exam centers will be identified by the serial number which you have set in the form. You can select reset button also to undo your selection, in case you mistakenly selected something wrong.
  6. Carefully select your category to which you belong. If you are from SC/ST or ex-serviceman or you are female from any religion then you will be exempted from fees paid. This is totally free for these category people.
  7. Just share your qualification details and contact details and select partial submission or final submission. Final submission in case you are exempted from fees payment, otherwise select partial submit button.

Half of the work is completed here. Now the other part will fix your seat in the SSC exam.

This is the third step.

  1. You have to select Online payment link from the application window (the main window) and start the payment of fee process.

You have to decide the mode of payment first. You can pay online also and offline also. Select the desired option.

Paying via online will remove your headache from visiting the bank and doing all kinds of nuisance stuff.

In both the cases, you have to pay 100/- as your SSC exam fee.

SSC JE Online payment process steps

  • Select the card through which you want to make the payment- debit card/ credit card/ ATM card.
  • Enter your mobile number and CVV number in the desired text box and wait for the OTP. This One Time Generated Password will be generated at your mobile number.
  • Quickly enter this OTP in the OTP text box, taking care of the time available. You cannot use the same OTP again and again in case, you got delayed.
  • Click Ok.
  • Make the payment and exit from the portal.
  • Make sure that you will receive a message soon after the transaction that your payment has been successfully transacted. Also, the status of payment will show a success value.
  • In this way, you can receive your payment assurance.

If you chose Offline payment

SSC JE Offline payment process steps

  • Repeat a and b point from above. Select offline option button and proceed.
  • A challan will be shown to you having your name and name of the bank (SBI) with 100/- fees in it.
  • There will be 2/ 3 copies- one for Bank and other for you (candidate).
  • You simply need to take out the print out of it and submit it to your nearby bank.
  • They will put a stamp on it and hand to you the candidate copy, thereby providing assurance that the bank has submitted your fees.
  • In this way, your fee will get submitted.

SSC JE Selection Process

  1. You have to first clear the paper 1 and only passing of this stage, you’ll be permitted to sit for paper 2.
  2. In case, you pass the paper 2 cutoffs, then your combined scores in paper 1 and paper 2 will be calculated and then will be matched as per the cutoffs of overall examination.
  3. If your scores got matched with the overall cutoff, then you will be shortlisted for the vacancy. But, if you failed, then you have to repeat the selection process, right from giving the paper 1.
  4. After getting shortlisted for the vacancy, you will be required to pass your document verification round in which your all degree certificates, caste certificate and another special certificate (if needed) will be checked. The details in those certificates will be matched by the concerning authorities with what you had filled while applying for the exam in the application form.
  5. If any mismatch is found, then your candidature in the examination can be canceled.
  6. If everything got matched in synchronize to your filled details, and then your selection is confirmed.
